How AI agents are changing the way we build digital solutions

11/13/2025

The way we develop digital services and solutions is changing faster than ever. We started with manual coding, then moved into an era of GPT and AI chat tools, where about half the code was written by humans and half by AI. Now, we’ve stepped into a new phase – developing digital solutions with AI agents that can create code entirely on their own.

A closer look at agentic coding

AI agents differ from earlier generations of AI because they can act autonomously. An AI agent can write code independently, allowing developers to focus on the bigger picture. Today, software development projects already use several agents, each with a distinct role. For example, one agent might handle code review, while another, working directly in the development environment, takes care of implementation.

Looking ahead, there’s no limit to how many agents we might use. Each could specialize in a specific area, such as security, usability, or performance. Together, they form an agent swarm, a virtual workforce, coordinated by an overarching “orchestrator” agent.

Today, entire projects can be completed with agents without the need for human-written code. The code is also reviewed by the agent, and a developer then reviews the final output. In the near future, we expect to see a lot more “agent swarm coding,” where one coordinating agent manages others that handle the detailed work. This shift transforms the way we work, especially as agents can operate continuously, around the clock.

Driving new levels of productivity

Agentic coding is reshaping how we create and deliver digital solutions. In about 6 weeks we’ve seen AI generate around 10,000 lines of code in one of our recent projects. Even more striking, the quality of the code has remained high and quality assurance can now be largely automated.

This approach also brings new flexibility. When AI agents connect with third-party systems, the development process becomes more adaptive and efficient. The impact extends well beyond coding into planning, strategy, and design, where productivity gains can reach up to 100%, especially in UI design and clickable prototypes.

Exploring agentic coding calls for genuine curiosity and a willingness to learn. Some organizations may face constraints due to internal policies or industry regulations, and ensuring data security remains critical. But as AI continues to evolve, the potential to transform how we work, create, and innovate grows even stronger.

A new way forward for software development

We’re now witnessing the biggest and fastest transformation the industry has seen in over two decades and it’s redefining how software development happens in two fundamental ways:

First, in the future, all code will be written by AI agents. The human role will shift toward what it was always meant to be: helping customers solve their problems.

Second, speed and productivity will rise dramatically. While AI isn’t perfect, the potential gains are enormous.

This doesn’t mean developers’ expertise is disappearing – rather the way work is done is evolving. What will matter most are vision, experience, and insight, not just hands on the keyboard. As work becomes more consultative, skills in strategy, communication, and business understanding will grow even more important for developers.

Value creation will no longer come from manual coding, but from the expertise and creativity behind how we guide these systems. Embracing this shift requires a new mindset, one open to fresh ways of thinking and working.

I’m genuinely excited to see where this transformation leads. In the next post of this series, we’ll explore in more detail how agentic coding is reshaping the developer’s role. If you want to discuss how Vincit and AI agents can benefit your next project, contact us.
