Making the office more than a workspace – how to encourage encounters and community

Working life has changed a lot in recent years, and hybrid work has become a permanent part of everyday life in many organizations. At Vincit, we believe that the office still has an important role to play – not only as a working area, but as the place for people to meet, build a sense of community, and create opportunities for better collaboration.

So why do we believe this? Because offices are a place where spontaneous conversations, new ideas, and stronger connections between colleagues arise. Although remote work offers flexibility and efficiency, face-to-face encounters have their own unique benefits. That’s why Vincit has invested a lot in our office environments. Today, we have several office spaces that stand out not only as visual delights, but also as meeting places that genuinely support everyday working needs.

Building a better office 


In recent years, Vincit’s offices and working conditions have been developed in connection with several moves. Each move has been an opportunity to look at our premises in a new way and build the work environment to better meet the demands of the local Vincit work community and their hybrid work. The goal has been to create environments where people in different roles can find a workplace or meeting arena that suits their different needs.

One of the essential investments has been to increase the number of single-person hybrid meeting rooms and phone booths. They offer a quiet and functional space for remote meetings, work that requires concentration, and situations where a Vincitizen needs ad-hoc space in the middle of the office day.

Encouraging events and communities

Vincit offices also offer the opportunity to organize family-friendly leisure events and parties in the evenings and weekends. Dozens of birthday parties, graduation parties, youth parties, and name days have been held in our premises all over Finland over the years. Most of our offices have a kitchen equipped with cooking facilities and, among other things, Ooni pizza ovens – which make it possible to conjure up delicious treats even during the working day. It’s just one example of what we mean when we say we’re “extraordinary together” at Vincit.

Investments in office space are also visible in the occupancy rates of offices. Vincitizens actively use our offices, and people find themselves in them again and again – especially when they want to collaborate, meet the team, or spend time together. People come to the office not only for the chance to focus and ergonomic working conditions, but also for encounters with other people, joint work, and a feeling of togetherness.

At its best, hybrid work combines flexibility and community: the opportunity to focus and the opportunity to meet colleagues. We believe that offices and office life are really worth investing in. A well-designed and comfortable work environment isn’t just a space for doing work – it’s a place where people meet, ideas are born, and that all-important community bond develops.
