Blog: Five key takeaways from the SAP Build Hackathon 2023

05/23/2023

We recently participated in the Build Hackathon 2023 organized by SAP. Our team of four experts used the SAP Build ecosystem to develop innovative web and mobile solutions. By incorporating SAP Build Apps, Workflow, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and Intelligent RPA, we successfully addressed multiple challenges presented at the hackathon. In this blog post, we share our key takeaways and the benefits we experienced while using SAP Build.

SAP Build proved to be an invaluable cloud-based application design and development tool. It allowed us to create interactive, responsive, and visually appealing applications. Here are five of the advantages we discovered when working with SAP Build apps:

  • Time-saving efficiency – with pre-built UI, logic, and data components, SAP Build enabled us to create prototypes and user interfaces swiftly and effortlessly.
  • Enhanced communication – SAP Build provided a unified platform for seamless communication among designers, developers, and stakeholders. This facilitated a shared understanding and ensured that everyone was aligned and working towards the same goals.
  • Cost reduction – by enabling rapid prototyping and user testing, SAP Build helped us identify potential issues and improvements early on in the design process. This proactive approach to design ultimately reduced development costs.
  • Flexibility and adaptability – SAP Build's flexible design environment allowed us to easily customize and modify our designs based on feedback and evolving requirements. This adaptability was crucial in refining our solutions effectively.
  • Seamless interoperability with SAP BTP – SAP Build seamlessly integrates with numerous SAP BTP services and backends, further amplifying its capabilities. This interoperability enables users to leverage the full range of features within the SAP BTP ecosystem. For example, SAP Build can be combined with SAP BTP's pre-built integration content and connectors. This integration allows businesses to create end-to-end workflows spanning multiple systems and applications. In our case, we used this capability to successfully tackle the "ultimate low code/no code challenge," creating a mashup application that capitalized on this integration.

By using SAP Build alongside SAP BTP, we were able to develop complex custom solutions in record time. These solutions addressed a wide range of challenges commonly faced by clients, showcasing the platform's capabilities.

Participating in the SAP Build Hackathon 2023 was definitely a great experience for our team. SAP Build and SAP BTP provided us with a useful combination of tools and services to solve real-world business problems. The hackathon served as a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with peers and demonstrate our expertise in using SAP Build. Moving forward, we’re excited to continue our work with SAP BTP and explore further possibilities offered by SAP Build.
