The City of Helsinki’s AI and Optimization team needed a capable data engineer to expand the competence of their team. They were looking for a person who understood data processing, coding, and data science. 

The goal was to find a consultant who could support the team in experimenting with AI methods and emerging technologies. The purpose is to test out new technologies in real use-cases to improve the services offered by the City of Helsinki.

Vincit has been helping the City of Helsinki to develop and experiment with AI, with one consultant working for four years with the team, and more recently a second consultant added to specific projects. As a result, City of Helsinki has gained flexibility in development resources.

For example, the team has worked on improving analytics, using machine learning to improve metro fault detection, creating the foundations of a generative AI platform, doing feedback analysis with large language models, and developing a RAG chatbot.
