Edulo

Developing a digital solution in half the time with AI agents

Vincit used AI-driven development to launch a solution quickly and cost-effectively for Edulo, a startup that develops teaching solutions for educators. The Atom web service is a smart digital tool that supports teachers' pedagogical planning and collaboration with colleagues in Finland.

Thanks to our AI-led approach, the site was up and running much faster than usual – 6 months of work was done in 3 months' time. This allowed Edulo to start finding users and improving education planning in Finland.

The challenge – create a custom solution that supports Edulo’s business goals

Edulo wanted to create a holistic tool that would help teachers in Finland do their lesson planning in a smarter and easier way. There is a national curriculum that needs to be followed, but teachers have the flexibility to create their own unit and lesson plans.

Edulo envisioned a tool where much of the work would be automated: the tool would include the national curriculum and show objectives, content areas, and assessment criteria in a user-friendly way. They also wanted to create a platform where teachers could securely store their lesson plans and collaborate with colleagues more easily.

Edulo interviewed teachers to make sure that there was a need for this kind of tool and to discover what kind of features would be needed.

Key business drivers

  • Attract users with a high-quality and user-friendly site geared towards the needs of teachers
  • Create the website in a quick timeframe – Edulo is a startup and needs to use resources wisely and also start attracting users as fast as possible.

Vincit provided the most transparent and clear offer that took our needs into account. They listened to us throughout the project and we had a constant dialogue to make the site better. We agreed to use AI-driven development to create our solution quickly, but still have a great product in the end that teachers would want to use.

The solution – AI-driven development

In order to create the Atom website for teacher planning quickly and cost-effectively, we discussed with Edulo about using AI. As a result, about 90 percent of the coding for the site was done using AI agents. AI-driven development significantly reduced both costs and time in development by automating key tasks, streamlining workflows, and providing assistance throughout the process.

Traditionally, developers manually code all the various elements to create a web service. With AI-driven tools, much of this work can be automated. This allows developers to focus on more complex aspects of design or functionality. For this approach to work well, the developer must really understand the customer's business needs and translate that into effective prompts for the AI agents to work with.

Modern development is no longer limited by traditional role boundaries. We use agentic AI to supercharge our developers’ capabilities, allowing our lead experts to oversee and execute both front- and back-end architectures with high precision. This AI-augmented workflow reduces manual friction and ensures that the project maintains high velocity from day one. Using agentic AI also streamlines onboarding, as new members of the project can quickly see what is being done and receive assistance that gets them into the project flow quickly.

The benefits – a complex web service delivered with high quality and speed

Bringing structure to curriculum-based planning

The Atom digital tool supports both teachers' own pedagogical planning and collaborative planning with colleagues. Automation highlights the right objectives for each grade and subject and helps users to plan content and assessment in the best way possible.

Users receive a ready-made summary that they can share with students, colleagues, and guardians, as well as print out for display in the classroom. Atom also makes it easy to co-design with colleagues to facilitate idea sharing and get better teaching results.

Faster implementation of the website

As a startup, the faster that Edulo could get the Atom website up and running, the better. By relying on AI-driven development and their developers' business experience, Vincit was able to produce a high-quality web service in a quicker timeframe than normally expected for a large and complex project like this.
