AI isn’t just changing how we work at Vincit; it’s already part of it. We build AI-driven solutions for our customers and use AI tools in our everyday work, making continuous skill development essential. That’s why we’re investing in practical ways to support learning across the organization.
Here are five initiatives we’ve introduced, with a focus on agentic AI.
Two main support areas
We have two main areas to support AI skills, Univincity and business areas. Univincity is our in-house learning shop that provides the tools and methods for learning and creates courses. Business areas are the service domains where we deliver value to our customers. They give direction and do their own supporting initiatives for AI skills development.
Our training relies strongly on social learning solutions and activities driven by our local learning communities – such as study groups and knowledge-sharing sessions. In these, curiosity and staying up to date with the latest tools play a key role. Our people actively share and discuss their knowledge and findings, and we continuously explore and apply best practices.
Both Univincity and the business areas have been busy promoting upskilling. Here are some of the things we’ve been working on:
1. Univincity materials
We’re focusing on using agentic AI to its fullest potential in Vincit. To support that, we’re hosting self-learning content in Univincity. Our self-learning content is made up of a combination of materials from different sources, including our own experts, the latest AI materials online, and learning courses.
All of this is easily available and organized for anyone who wants to dive deeper into agentic AI on their own at any point, providing a good starting point to learn more.
2. Univincity training program
We also had a training program for building practical skills related to agentic AI. We based the course on information from 13 of our best experts by asking them how our people should prepare for agentic AI and building solutions for our customers.
During the 8-week program, participants were divided into groups of 3-4 people each and given assignments each week. For each learning sprint, we had a kickoff, a Q&A, and our experts demonstrated sample builds. The teams would then work on their assignment to build their solution. We provided all the needed tools and environments so the students could execute the assignments on their own.
One of the key learnings from this program is that group work with practical assignments is a really effective way to teach AI skills. Because there was a group of people, they could always make progress on the assignment even if someone was out for a given week due to illness, vacation, or customer work.
3. Study groups
There is an established study group concept in Univincity – anyone can run and join a study group, and we give support like licenses to learning environments, tools, and a cloud sandbox so people can experiment and build on their own. This is an ideal way to support self-learning.
In order to encourage Vincitizens to work on their AI skills even more, we decided that each office location in Vincit should come up with an AI study group. So far this is working really well: all our offices are actively running study groups with over 100 participants in total.
4. The AI roadshow
To further support AI upskilling efforts, the business areas ran their own training concept called the AI roadshow. Experts visited all Vincit office locations and gave a 2-to-3-hour session that was a mix of lectures, demos, and a practical assignment.
The goal of the roadshow was to bring awareness about how AI changes our ways of working in software development, how Vincitizens should prepare for that, and how they can get started with agentic AI software development right away – even during the show.
5. Agentic AI development kick-start training with Claude Code
Our latest training course is designed to get attendees from zero to full speed with Claude Code, using internal and external learning, demo videos, and a hands-on exercise.
The course takes about 2 to 4 hours and includes a live Q&A and feedback session to finalize the learning. At the end, participants get an Agentic AI Development Certification. Anyone in Vincit is encouraged to take this training path, as it benefits even non-technical students.
And we’re not going to stop here. These are just the initiatives we’ve been working on in the past few months. Our plan is to continue developing and creating new learning courses and approaches that will help all Vincitizens get the most out of AI – and deliver more value to our customers.
